We’ve refreshed our breakfast offering at THE MACHIYA EBISUYA. Starting March 7, 2026, guests can enjoy a freshly prepared hot breakfast each morning at THE MACHIYA LOUNGE, located right next to the hotel.
About THE MACHIYA LOUNGE
THE MACHIYA LOUNGE is housed in a traditional Kyoto machiya townhouse that has been designated as an Important Landscape Building by the City of Kyoto. With its warm aged woodwork and quietly traditional atmosphere, the lounge offers a distinctly different atmosphere from a standard hotel breakfast room, and a great way to begin a day in Kyoto.
Two Breakfast Options to Choose From
Traditional Japanese Breakfast – This is a traditional Japanese morning meal built around carefully prepared dashi stock, made from scratch using kombu kelp and katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes). Each dish is made to let the natural umami of the ingredients shine. This is a light but satisfying way to start the day, and a great way to experience everyday Japanese food culture during your stay.
The MACHIYA Panini Breakfast – If you’re after something more Western, try our toasted panini sandwich. A hearty ham & cheese panini, pressed and toasted, paired with a specialty espresso or drink of choice. Enjoy it alongside a plate of seasonal salad, colorful carrot and red cabbage rapée, homemade granola with yogurt, and today’s smoothie. Vegetarian panini option available on request.
Lounge Access During Your Stay (For reservations from March 7, 2026 onward)
In addition to breakfast, guests may use THE MACHIYA LOUNGE throughout their stay, with complimentary drinks available between 12:00〜20:00. The lounge is a comfortable space to relax between outings or simply take a moment to enjoy the surroundings.

An upgrade plan is available for guests who have already made reservations. Please speak with a member of staff at check-in or during your stay for details.
