Arkopia Sunflower Garden, located in the Kuguno area of Takayama City, is a seasonal sunflower field that opens for a short window each summer. Around 200,000 sunflowers bloom across the field, creating a vivid, golden landscape, with amazing views of the Northern Alps. The area is part of Hida Funayama Snow Resort Arkopia.

During the 2026 season, the garden is open from Saturday, August 1 to Sunday, August 16. Opening hours are from 9:00 to 16:00. Admission is ¥800 for adults, ¥300 for elementary school children, and free for young children.
The garden has a dedicated sunflower observation deck, great for taking photos. The field stretches out in every direction, and the deck gives you a perspective that is well worth the visit on its own.
For families, there is plenty to keep younger visitors happy too, with a water play area, playground equipment, and weekend events running throughout the season. There is also on-site parking, for those that are exploring Takayama by car.
