Post Date:

Hello from Takayama! Currently in Takayama, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom and at their peak beauty. The image shows the current cherry blossom scenery at the popular “Nakabashi Bridge” spot. Nakabashi Bridge is located just moments away from the “Old Town” district and “Takayama Jinya” (historic government house), both exuding the charming atmosphere of an Edo-period castle town. It’s perfect for a quick visit during your walking tour. The bridge is illuminated during each season, allowing visitors to enjoy completely different scenery during day and night, making it a highly recommended spot.

Just a 10-minute drive or one train station away, in Ichinomiya town, the famous 1,100-year-old “Garyu Cherry Tree” is also in full bloom. If you’re planning a driving trip, you can enjoy the 500-year-old “Shokawa Cherry Tree” from early to mid-May. Both cherry trees feature nighttime illumination, offering a magical atmosphere of cherry blossoms after dark.

Along with the mountain cherry trees visible from the train, bus, or car on your way to Takayama, we look forward to welcoming you to enjoy these spectacular spring-only views during your visit!
