The 2025 Autumn Takayama Festival featured traditional yatai (festival floats) and performing arts, with the powerful shishimai (lion dance) captivating many visitors. Leading the float procession, the shishimai plays an important role in purifying the path ahead. The lion dances to the beat of drums and flutes with strong, dynamic movements, offering an exciting chance to experience Takayama’s cultural traditions up close.
