‘Asatoyuu Yuuna’ Machiya House: a private holiday house (vacation rental) located just a 1-minute walk from Takayama Station. Within walking distance of Takayama’s Old Town and the lively Miyagawa Morning Market, this private Japanese machiya is reserved for one group per day. Showcasing Takayama’s renowned woodwork, the house is filled with natural light, with high ceilings that create a welcoming and spacious atmosphere.
A garden path reminiscent of a teahouse approach leads to the entrance, where seasonal greenery frames the way into a calm and private retreat. On the first floor, a bright living–dining area with a sofa, large table, and fully equipped kitchen opens onto a courtyard garden. Here, a pine tree, long regarded as a symbol of resilience and longevity, serves as a serene focal point, also visible from the adjoining Japanese-style bedroom.
Upstairs, you can unwind in a hinoki cypress bathtub crafted from locally sourced wood, alongside two bedrooms: one Japanese-style and one Western-style with double beds. With air conditioning and floor heating throughout, Asatoyuu Yuuna can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests, making it ideal for families, groups, or longer stays in Takayama.
