Getting There<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From THE MACHIYA EBISUYA Hotel, it’ll take approximately 30 minutes to arrive at the entrance of Fushimi Inari Shrine. You’ll first want to walk to Kiyomizu-Gojo Station (approximately 700-meter walk). From there, take the Keihan Railway to Fushimi Inari Station. Once you exit the station, head east and you’ll arrive at the shrine entrance almost immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important note:<\/strong> Limited Express trains do not stop at Fushimi Inari Station, so please take either the Semi-Express or Local trains.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Must-See Highlights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senbon Torii (Thousand Torii Gates)
<\/strong><\/span>This is Fushimi Inari Shrine’s most famous spot. Walk through a tunnel of vermillion torii<\/em> gates that create a mystical atmosphere. While most visitors stop to take photos at the entrance of the torii<\/em> gates, we recommend walking up about 5 minutes so you can capture photos without the crowds!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Omokaruishi (Weight-Testing Stones) at Okusha Hohaisho
<\/strong><\/span>Located just past the Senbon Torii, you’ll find the Omokaruishi, stone lanterns with a spherical stone sitting on top called the “kurin.” First, make a wish in your mind. Then, try lifting the round stone off the lantern. If it feels lighter than you expected, it’s said your wish will come true!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romon Gate
<\/strong><\/span>This massive red gate appears right as you enter the main path. It’s an Important Cultural Property said to have been donated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Times to Visit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fushimi Inari is one of Kyoto’s top attractions, so it tends to be crowded most of the time. If you want to avoid the crowds, we recommend two specific time slots:
\u30fc For photos with fewer people, early morning between 7:00\u20138:00 AM is your best bet.
\u30fc If you want to experience a different, more mysterious atmosphere at Fushimi Inari, visit after 6:00 PM. However, note that most shops and caf\u00e9s in the surrounding area will be closed by then, so plan accordingly if you want to explore the local businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Your Visit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The area near the intersection of Fushimi Inari’s back approach (ura-sando) and Honmachi Street has plenty of caf\u00e9s and souvenir shops, perfect for a break or some shopping after exploring the shrine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
